    Girls Lounge

    A social experience programme giving girls and young women the chance to step outside their usual environment in Barking & Dagenham, explore new places and try different cultural, educational, wellbeing and social experiences. It is about confidence, independence, friendships, and seeing that there are opportunities beyond your own postcode.

    Strangers to Friends

    A free life-skills workshop, led by qualified guest speakers, for young people finding their feet in London. It covers the things nobody teaches you: council tax, housing and voting, getting a driving licence, car insurance, budgeting, saving and mortgages, university prep, and the cultural and social ground you need to stand on. It is also where the friendships happen — young people arrive as strangers and leave knowing each other.

    Friday Youth Mentoring & Life Skills

    Mentoring, CV writing, employability, money management, entrepreneurship, wellbeing and career development. The Friday session older young people bring their friends to.

    Wednesday Youth Transition, Wellbeing & Mentoring

    Career development, mentoring, mental wellbeing, confidence, money awareness and practical life skills, for young people at the point they move up to secondary and start making their own decisions.

  • First and last Friday of each month, 6pm–8pm16+

    University & Careers Preparation

    Advice, financial awareness and personal development for young people moving from college to university. Young people build self-esteem and financial awareness: more confident managing and budgeting their money, and more able to lead independent, self-sufficient lives.
