We shower young founders in Barking and Dagenham with everything they need to start: mentoring, materials, a small starter fund and their first real customers.
It started with one question.
If you had a small starter fund, what would you build, and why? What problem would you solve?
We asked a group of young people that question, and then we made it real. With support from the council and our community, five young founders launched real businesses: designing logos, testing ideas on the market, pitching to their peers and learning to communicate like leaders.
Not everybody is born to be academic. Some young people have a skill and the desire to make something happen. They just need the right people to listen.
